State Water Program Vision 2050

State Water Program Vision 2050

November 11, 2025

With a focus on water security for the coming decades, the Government of Jalisco—through the State Water Commission—has launched the State Water Program Vision 2050.

More than just an administrative document, it is a scientific and technical roadmap to guarantee access to this vital resource in a context of climate change and population growth.

The most relevant aspect of this project is its participatory science methodology. The program is not being developed in isolation; its central axis is the integration of data and perspectives from:

Academia – Contributing research and technical evidence.
Productive Sectors – To balance water use within the economy.
Civil Society – Listening to the direct needs of the population.

The Consultation Forum on Territorial Water Governance was held in Auditorium H of the Pan-American University on November 11, 2025.
