Ligia García Bejar, Ph.D.

She holds a PhD and Master’s degree in Communication with highest honors from the University of the Andes in Chile. She is certified in Hispanic Marketing Communication by Florida State University. She has a degree in Education, with a specialization in Anthropology and Ethics and Teaching Skills from the Panamerican University, Guadalajara Campus. She is currently Dean of the School of Education and Psychology. She is a senior associate of the Mexican Council for Educational Research and has been awarded the distinction of Level 1 Researcher in the National System of Researchers and Investigators of Conahcyt. She teaches postgraduate courses at institutions such as the Universidad del Istmo in Guatemala, the Universidad Católica de El Salvador, and the Universidad de los Andes in Chile. Her research focuses on digital audience studies and internet use among children, adolescents, and young adults, as well as the study of academic and research trajectories in private universities. She collaborates in the permanent research seminar Recrea of the Jalisco Ministry of Education. She was Executive Manager of the project “Character Education Leadership Program for Mexican Public Schools” funded by the Templeton World Charity Foundation.
