Carlos Javier Escudero Santiago, Ph.D.

He is Full Professor and Researcher at the Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara (UAG), in the Department of Biotechnology and Environmental Sciences. He studies the PhD in Chemical, Energy and Process Engineering (Universidad de Cantabria, Spain), a Masters degree in Water Sciences (Universidad de Guanajuato, Mexico), and a degree in Environmental Engineering (Universidad del Mar, Mexico).

At the Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara (UAG), he leads the research line on Green Engineering Processes applied to the treatment of waste derived from productive activities, working with undergraduate and graduate students in the Sustainable Chemical Processes Group. The research focuses on developing sustainable wastewater treatment technologies with a circular economy approach. From 2019 to 2025, he was a board member of the Young Water Professionals Mexico Chapter, of the International Water Association. Since March 2023, he has been a member of the Guadalajara Chemical Society. In February 2024, he joined the Academic Committee of the Santiago River Basin Council to propose and promote research and innovation projects that improve the conditions of the watershed.
