Abraham Mendoza Andrade, Ph. D.

Abraham Mendoza holds an M.S. (2004) and Ph.D. (2007) in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from The Pennsylvania State University, supported by a national graduate scholarship from Mexico’s National Council of Science and Technology and the Ridg-U-Rak Scholarship from the Material Handling Education Foundation. He completed executive education programs in senior management and leadership at Harvard Business School and IPADE Business School. He currently serves as Chancellor of Universidad Panamericana’s Guadalajara campus and is a member of the UP–IPADE Rectors’ Council. Throughout his career at UP, he has served as Director of the Industrial Engineering program, Dean of the School of Engineering, and Vice President for Research of the UP–IPADE system.

He has received national and international distinctions for his academic and professional trajectory, including Penn State’s Graduate of the Last Decade (GOLD) Award and the “Manuel López Cotilla” Award from JALTEC. He is a Full Professor (Titular D) and a Level 1 member of Mexico’s National System of Researchers. His research focuses on supply chain optimization, operations management, transportation, facility design, and material handling.

Research areas: Inventory theory, supply chain optimization, transportation, facility planning and design, production planning, healthcare operations management.
